About Me
I am a psychotherapist and counsellor with 10 years' experience of working with clients in a variety of settings. These include a G.P practice, a University counselling service and working in a service providing counselling to survivors of sexual violence alongside private practice.

Prior to training as a counsellor I had a 25 year career as a nurse and a midwife in the NHS. I decided to retrain after becoming aware of the increase in the number of patients suffering from mental health issues and the direct link between our mental and physical health.

How I Work
I trained at Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham, completing a BSc. in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2017. I work integrating theories from different approaches tailoring how I work to each individual client.

My aim is to offer you a safe place where you can explore your feelings and to gain a greater understanding of the issues you may be facing.

Over the years I have developed an interest in trauma therapy and decided to study this further. I have recently completed my Master in Trauma Informed Practice at Nottingham University.

I am also interested in how being outdoors can positively impact our mental health and the therapeutic process. I have undertaken training in taking therapy outdoors at the Centre for Natural Reflection in Derbyshire.

I am a Professionally Accredited member of the NCPS and an Accredited member of the BACP and abide by their ethical framework and that of The Sherwood Training Institute. I have an enhanced DBS certificate and am in regular supervision.
