Welcome.
There are many reasons why people may consider approaching a counsellor or therapist, they may be coming to terms with a loss or bereavement, finding it to difficult to cope with the stress and demands of everyday life or it may be that emotion and feelings about events in the past are affecting how someone is living in the present. In fact some people may not actually know what the reason is but feel that it would be beneficial to talk to someone in a supportive and confidential setting.
Whatever your reason for considering counselling please note you are not alone, recent statistics show 1 in 4 of us will experience some form of mental illness during our life time. 'Talking Therapies', such as counselling and psychotherapy, are recognised as effective treatments of mental illnesses such as depression.
I work with adults on a short or long term basis. My aim is to provide a safe place where you will be able to explore your feelings and to help you gain a greater understanding about issues you may be facing. I believe that therapy can aid healing by providing a therapeutic relationship which is non- judgemental, authentic and based on trust.
If you wish to discuss your situation or why you are considering counselling please do not hesitate to contact me.
